Run Logan! Run!!

Odd that Rodeo should just happen to post about Logan’s Run, as I have just watched it this past weekend. Well, PVR’d it and watched it in pieces (I know I have the DVD somewhere).

Pretty much 32 years after the movie’s release, I finally made a couple startling revelations:

Color! I never knew that the people were wearing the color of their age! Watch any scene, if their life clock/palm flower is green, their clothes are green! Blue flower? Blue outfit! Damn! I missed that 32 years in a row !!

Dude! I totally saw your teeth! I finally saw the guy inside the Box the Robot character. Well, his teeth and his tongue…man, had to suck to be wearing that outfit…

Anyways, if you ever get the chance, read the book instead! But stop at the first one. The other’s, “Logan’s World” and “Logan’s Search“, all which continue chronicling the adventures of Logan… are retarded. Plain and simple. They should have to have a sticker on their cover, bright yellow, with the word RETARDED bolded in black on it… pure she-ite….

Gotta go, approaching Lastday… and I’m outta beer…

The Xmas bush…

Believe it or not, I actually am a fan of Xmas. Well, the stay at home, eat/drink/sleep portions of it. The “go out and conduct full contact shopping/wait in lines forever/freeze my nads off pushing outta the snow”,… well that part of Xmas can suck my ass…

But every time this year the urge to put up the Xmas tree arrives, usually with the first skiff’s of “snow you know is gonna stay”. And while most people have moved to the reusable, environmentally friendly trees (read that as “artificial“) I’m still a fan of going out into nature and killing my own tree…  or just going to the tree lot and buying one… usually less hassle involved as opposed to getting that perfectly shaped gem… off the local golf course (been there, done that… you gotta be quick, especially on the public courses).

So, not to drag this out into a big wordy blah-blah, let me present to you “Dalek“, the 2008 InsanityLab Xmas Bush:

He’s a 7-8 foot Quebec Balsam, with a bit of a pregnant shape not observable in the picture. DesignGuy actually named him after a quick glance. If I get the chance, I’ll pop a couple more pics. This is just off my fone as I headed out…

He’s all lit up, thus the blurry balls of light. I believe I have surpassed any fire hazzard warnings this year, putting well in excess of 150 C5 lights on him (Balsam’s are bitches….hard to properly light to get that glowing goodness). I can’t use the microwave at the same time, blows the breaker. But as a bonus I don’t need to turn the furnace on, he throws quite a bit of heat.

I wonder if my insurance covers this shit….

And I’m STILL in love with Jenny Agutter!

I finally caught on to Bitterman’s earlier post that referenced plankton and protein from the sea. It was from “Logan’s Run”, right?

Now that was a great movie! Micheal York looked like a doofus in his neo-futuristic spandex body suit, but Jenny was a picture of loveliness in (and out) of her digs. And if I wasn’t in love with her after seeing that movie then I sure as hell was after seeing “An American Werewolf in London”.

I Can’t Believe It

1. It has been 3 years (and a day) since my very first post as a new writer for insanitylab.

2. They haven’t fired me yet.

Friday’s, really the “Second Monday” of my week…

Busier than hell, the Internet is working against me and the toaster’s been laughing at me (still) so let’s get this puppy pushed out the door:

Just in time to be a day late (god I’m good) we start this Friday with a link from Tyler in Toledo. It’s a reminder of days gone by: the classic WKRP Turkey Drop. (Watch out, Adobe is the Borg… can’t seem to view any Flash until I update to the latest version… pure bullshit…)

Brandon sends us this holiday “traditional” recipe: How to get fat, er, make Turducken. Honestly, never heard of Turducken…

Hot on Brandon’s heels is a link from “anonymous” (nice… very creative) in Divide, Nevada. He wants to see your Turducken and raise you a Turbaconmuttonduckenlotsmorebacontocoverthetasteofmutton. With bacon and bouron stuffing. It’s from your friends at Bacon Today. Really. (With scary- ass, artery clogging pics. Links go to pics and directs to link for Bacon Today recipe site. Original post linked to appears to be a 3rd party blog).

Outta the recipes and onto the field for some Thanksgiving football… or rather some Turkey Day Salvation (this stuff is just strange): Nun’s give it up for J- Dog (with video of cheerleading routine). Gimme a J…Gimme and E….Gimme a S…Gimme a U….Gimme a S….What’d you got? Salvation!!! Thanks Tonya…

Continuing on with some Nun weirdness, the “Big Clobber Link Generator” sends us a link to a pageant. For Nun’s. Ok, enuff of the religious weirdness please…

From Justice, the “let’s eat everything in sight” theme continues with landscapes made from food!

And finally, because I’m trying to keep my job so I have to cut this short: from Diana S. in Walcott, ND, a link with a more seasonal connection:

Whoville in Louisville?
No, sir there will not,
can not, and
should not be a
Whoville in Louisville.
Not in a park,
not in the dark,
not without Dr. Suess Enterprise’s consent
no matter the city’s intent

Later! I’m a wanted man…

“We don’t take no shit…”
