As I have aged, I have gotten smarter in my own mind only. At the risk of alienating the staff here at the lab, I will now voice my opinion on vacations. I have the luxury of being single and I have never understood how it is that men are just expected to go on vacations with their wives or girlfriends (or both - but that’s a whole different topic). Why am I expected to spend $2000 or more to go somewhere I have no desire or interest to go, but if I don’t go, I am branded an uncaring selfish asshole? How would your wife or girlfriend feel if you told them, “Yah, I’m gonna soup up the engine in our family sedan and seeing as how you ride in it and we are a couple and all, you need to give me $2000.” You would get a waffle iron thrown at your head! It’s bad enough that they get to decide what to do with your money, but you aren’t even allowed to go where YOU would like to go on vacation. I’ve just never understood this whole concept.

If you haven’t seen this TV show, it is about a couple from Arkansas (big surprise) who has 19 KIDS and the mom keeps getting pregnant. When a promo ad for the show came on last night, I snapped. I lost it. I screamed at my television, “Stop getting pregnant!”

Now all my neighbors think I am retarded. I’m pretty sure somebody is retarded and it ain’t me.
