Increasing the Insanity....

Animators, future Spielberg’s, fiction writers, cartoonists... or just those generally out in left field without a glove - we want your submissions. We can offer you international exposure and well, that's about it. No remuneration of any kind. Nadda. Zilch. The only thing you get is a spot at the Lab to display your work. You even get to keep the rights to your work...WOW!

We're on the lookout for original work that will take our visitors on a reality break. Think you've got what it takes? Here's how it works:

  1. Take a look around the site. If you think you have something that belongs here, let us know. E-mail us the work you want published on our site and a brief description of what it is (cartoon, movie, fake commercial, etc.). We ask you to consider file size and download speed when we look at submissions. Try to keep them around 500kb. We don't want to choke our mail servers to death with attachments the size of small planets. If it's larger than 500kb, contact us (minus the attachment) anyway and we'll work out how to proceed.

  2. We'll review your work to see if it's something we'd like to promote at Insanitylab.com. "What! You have standards!" you say? Well, yes and no. We don't really care what it's about, but we want material to be relevant to how we see the site: which is a fun place to hang out and see what "new media people" are all about. Like we said earlier, take a look around the site. If you think you have something that belongs in our community, let us know. If we want it, we'll respond saying so, with further dialogue. If you have not heard from us after four weeks, please assume that we were unable to accommodate your submission.

  3. If we do want to display your work, we'll ask you to sign a very brief release contract that states that indeed it IS YOUR WORK and not someone else's that you are trying to pass off as yours. We'll also be requesting nonexclusive rights to publish your work on our site. You'll retain the rights to publish your work elsewhere.

  4. All submissions should be compatible primarily with PC versions of MS Internet Explorer (latest version) and Netscape (in that order). Ideally, work will also be compatible for display on Macs, though this is not a requirement.

These are just guidelines to give you the impression of how we want to do this "submissions" thing. If you have something that doesn't quite fit in as per the above, send us a quick note and tell us why, and we'll go from there...

The only thing we really hate is when someone sends the contents of their hard drive as an attachment...
